1. Start a consistent log
Use the same safe waterline reference. Record date and time, normal pump state, weather, pool use, backwashing, and water added. A single observation does not confirm a leak.
2. Add visible context safely
From a safe position, record recurring wet areas, air bubbles, equipment-area moisture, visible gaps, or the level where water appears to settle. Do not open electrical or pressurized equipment.
3. Prepare the property and questions
Note gates, pets, equipment access, recent work, and known hazards. Ask what the evaluation includes, what documentation is provided, and whether repair is a separate proposal.
4. Keep local rules current
Water restrictions can change. The City of Lakeland page reviewed July 30, 2026 reported Phase III restrictions through October 1, 2026 and said restrictions could change sooner. Recheck the official City page.
